Why I created the RIDING BRAVE Journal for young riders.

Why I created the RIDING BRAVE Journal for young riders.

Hi there! For those that don't know me, I'm Sass, the founder of RIDING BRAVE and I’m so excited to share with you the story behind the creation of the RIDING BRAVE Journal. As someone who has always had a deep love for horses and stationery, this journal is a combination of my passions - both in creating something practical and meaningful for young riders, and in inspiring them to be brave in every part of their journey.

A Love for Horses, Stationery, and Empowerment
Through watching my favourite horse movies, visiting friends horses, and now having my own, I’ve learnt that horses are incredible teachers. They have a way of helping us grow, challenge ourselves, and learn valuable life lessons - lessons that go beyond just riding. Horses are great educators, showing us the importance of patience, persistence, and trust. But they also teach us about resilience, courage, and being present in the moment. These are qualities I wanted to help foster in young riders, not just on horseback, but in every area of their lives.

As much as I’ve loved horses, I’ve also always had a soft spot for stationery - journals, pens, stickers, all of it. There’s something about putting pen to paper and reflecting on your day that just makes the experience feel extra special. I wanted to combine these two passions into something that would empower kids to take charge of their riding adventures and really connect with themselves and their horses.

An Empowerment Tool
The idea for the RIDING BRAVE Journal came out of my desire to create something that would help kids reflect, set goals, and track their progress in a way that was fun, meaningful, and empowering. Horseback riding isn’t just about learning new skills - it’s about building confidence, pushing through challenges, and celebrating growth. The journal allows kids to do all of this in a creative and supportive way.

I believe that writing down thoughts, goals, and experiences can help kids process their emotions, track their growth, and feel a sense of accomplishment. That’s why I created the Journal - as a place where they can not only write about their riding experiences but also discover how to apply these lessons in other areas of their life.

There’s Nothing Like It
When I was researching options for young riders, I found that there really wasn’t anything out there quite like the RIDING BRAVE Journal. Sure, there are plenty of journals for kids, but this journal was created with the specific goal of connecting young riders to their horses and helping them reflect on their riding journey. It’s a tool that encourages mindfulness, self-reflection, and connection in a way that truly stands apart from other products.

Building Confidence, One Page at a Time
One of the most important things for me was creating a journal that would encourage kids to feel empowered, both in and out of the saddle. I want every child who uses this Journal to feel like they have a space to celebrate their bravery - whether they’ve tackled a new jump, overcome a fear, or simply had an amazing ride. The Journal includes prompts that help young riders reflect on what they’ve learned, and it also includes fun elements, like sticker sheets, so they can visually celebrate their milestones. I want them to look back at their Journal over time and feel proud of everything they’ve accomplished.

A Keepsake for a Journey of Growth
In the end, the RIDING BRAVE Journal is more than just a journal - it’s a keepsake, a way for kids to track their riding journey, reflect on their growth, and feel supported along the way. It’s a way for them to not only bond with their horse but also discover more about themselves as they ride through each adventure. Every page is an opportunity to feel proud, celebrate bravery, and connect with the lessons that horses can teach us all.

So, whether your child is just starting their riding journey or is already well on their way, I hope the RIDING BRAVE Journal becomes a trusted companion that helps them feel empowered, confident, and ready to take on the world - both on and off the saddle.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. I’m so excited to see where this adventure takes your young rider!

With love and gratitude,
Sass xx
